Save the Hamlet Food Voucher Program for Inuit Children

Tell the Liberal Government to reinstate the food voucher program as part of the Inuit Child First Initiative/Jordan's Principle

Before the 2025 federal election, the Liberals promised to continue funding the Inuit Child First Initiative. The food voucher program was strengthening food security for Inuit children and families.

But during the campaign, the Liberals broke their promise and canceled the food voucher program. Over 15,000 Inuit children and their families were using the program.

Now, families have to apply for assistance for each child, separately. This creates a bureaucratic requirement that can be difficult for large families in Nunavut.

Inuit children should not go to school hungry in a country as rich as Canada. Nunavummiut deserve better.
